Build the software small businesses actually run on
We are a small team building a system of record for companies who cannot afford an ERP implementation project. It is unglamorous, high-stakes work, and it matters to every business using it.
- Jodhpur, Rajasthan
- Small teams, whole features
- Paid, one-day exercise
Four things we do not trade away
Worth knowing before you write, because these are not preferences.
You will talk to customers
Everyone who builds sits in on support and demo calls. Accounting software cannot be designed from a distance.
Small teams, whole features
One or two people own a module from the data underneath to the screen on top. No handoff between a design team and a build team.
Written before spoken
Proposals and decisions are written down. It keeps meetings short and lets everyone stay in the argument.
Correctness is not negotiable
This software holds other people’s books. We ship carefully, we test the money paths, and we do not paper over a bug with a workaround.
The work, area by area
When we open roles, they come from these six areas. Nothing needs to be open for you to write — tell us which one is yours.
Money paths that cannot be wrong
Invoices, ledgers, stock and tax on one database. You write the code, and the tests that prove a posting balances.
Dense screens people use all day
Accounts teams live in this software. Design here means fewer clicks on the hundredth invoice, not a prettier first one.
Moving a business onto KyDec
Mapping masters, opening balances and stock from Tally or Excel, then sitting through the customer’s first month-end.
The person on the other end of the call
When a customer calls, they get someone who can fix it — not a ticket number.
Keeping the books honest
GST returns, TDS, e-way bills and reconciliation, checked by someone who has closed a set of books.
Helping owners decide
Demos with the customer’s own data, and an honest answer when KyDec is not the right fit.
Nothing posted today
We are not running a formal hiring round right now. We still read everything that arrives, and we have hired from an unsolicited email more than once.

Three steps, none of them unpaid
Short on purpose. You should be able to judge us as quickly as we judge you.
Send work, not a cover letter
A repository, a product you shipped, a spreadsheet you built for a business that still uses it — anything you made and can talk through.
Your first emailA short paid exercise
Scoped to a day, paid at your rate, on a real problem from our backlog. We do not ask for a week of unpaid work.
One day, paidTwo conversations
One on the craft, one with the people you would work beside. You meet whoever you would work with, not only a recruiter.
Then a decisionThink you would fit here?
Send us something you made and the part of KyDec you would want to own. We read every email.
